About Us
 DJ LADY ERICA
Show Pony Music was officially established in February 2005 in Melbourne, Australia by DJ Lady Erica with the website going live in July 2005. Originally it was part of Artesia Productions DJ Lady Erica’s music business incorporating DJing, remix and production work. Music sales were an organic process, with Erica literally bringing suitcases full of records from London back to Melbourne, each year and selling copies of tunes she thought would rock the dancefloor! Show Pony Music now concentrates solely on sales and distribution of UK Garage, Grime and Dubstep DVDs, CDs and vinyl and is managed by Dave Sinclair, the original Soul collector, who brought Soul and other funky black music to Melbourne from the UK back in the 80s. In his heyday, Dave had over 10,000 records in his home - many rare collector items! The Australian music industry used to be anti-soul/funk/R&B so Dave and his comrades used to have to illegally order imports from the US and UK at risk of facing prosecution - back in the day Greville Street Records, Raoul Records and other upfront stores did get busted and fined! Thankfully all of that has changed now and you can still catch Dave spinning at Der Raum (Abysinthe Bar), in Richmond, Melbourne.
